Welcome to the "New" official website of the Jackson Park Volunteer Fire Department and Thank You for visiting. We have been working on a new site design for over a year now. It involved many hours of working with different vendors and looking at many designs. It is still a work in progress but if you are reading this, we have gone "Live". I encourage each visitor to “surf” each page (especially the safety pages) of the site. If you have any comments please drop us an email. A special Thank You to past Fire Chief John Hilfirty for his diligent work on this task and to all members of the department who assisted.
We are very pleased to announce that in February 2007, we were awarded the 2006 Federal Fire Act Grant to purchase 12 new Portable Radio's and a vehicle exhaust system for our station. We have applied that grant to purchase 12 Motorola XTS 5000 800Mhz Radio's and a MagneGrip Vehicle Exhaust Removal System.
We are also pleased to announce that on April 11, 2006 our Board of Directors approved the purchase and we signed a contract with Metrolina Fire & Rescue, Inc. for a new 2006 Smeal Rescue Pumper. Delivery was made in October 2006 and Engine went into service on November 6, 2006. Please see our Apparatus page for more information on this new truck. There has been numerous other accomplishments over the last year or so that we are very proud of. Some of those more significant accomplishments will be mentioned in other areas of our new website, either currently or at a later date.
Thank you for your continued support as we continue every day to grow and get better at what we do.
God Bless all of you!
Please visit us again.
